Voting and Elections Action Team

Election Action Team focuses on empowering and educating citizens to actively participate in the democratic process by promoting informed voting, advocating for fair and accessible elections, and fostering civic engagement. We are committed to upholding the principles of nonpartisanship, inclusivity, and transparency to ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity and confidence to cast their ballot every candidate has their voice heard.

Mission Statement

Inform members and citizens about the voting system in El Paso County.
Collaborate with other “Get Out the Vote” organizations and efforts.
Identify, Support and Promote Pro-Democracy Candidates.

Accomplishments

Organized an Information Session with Steve Schleiker, El Paso County Clerk and Recorder, April 29, 2025, 5:30pm-7:30pm (See Event)
Voting Team Member (Jen) will manage, organize, and keep track of the contacts with other voting organizations. Will make the spreadsheet available by having it posted on the website (awaiting link)
Discussed the City Council Elections. Feel free to ask a team member questions about who is running in your district. Most importantly, encourage those around them to vote. Ballots due Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

Current Projects

For School Board Elections
- Recruit and Support Excellent Candidates
Propose and work to create a law to forbid outside money into local school board elections.
Support move of all elections to November.
