Immigration & Deportation Action Team

Our goal is to build a society that welcomes and values all people, ensuring they have the freedom and opportunity to thrive. We fight for fair and humane immigration policies, standing against unjust deportations that tear families apart. We support due process and transparency for all. Through advocacy, direct action, and community support, we work to protect the rights and dignity of all immigrants.

When do we meet?

Monthly meeting. Alternating ZOOM with in-person meetings.

Current intent

  1. Inform and educate action team members and the community about immigration and deportation issues.
  2. Collaborate with local and state agencies working with immigrants and refugees in our community.
  3. Advocate for legislation supporting immigrants and resisting unjust deportations.

Actions so far

  • Distributed Know-Your-Rights red cards during protests/community events.
  • Organized Immigration 101 and Lutheran Family Service presentations to action team.
  • Helped draft “Petition to End Inhumane Detention Practices and Federal Raids Targeting our Communities” that was delivered to the mayor after Nightclub/ICE raid on 4/29/2025.
  • Participated in unjust deportations protests at Sheriff’s and Mayor’s offices.
  • Informed members of the action team about immigration and deportation issues so they could contact their legislators.

Focus topics

  • Schedule Immigration 101 and Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition (CIRC) presentations for all Indivisible members.
  • Continue protesting unjust deportations in collaboration with other organizations. Distribute Know-Your-Rights red cards during protests and community events.
  • Schedule in-person meetings for action team with agencies working with immigrants and refugees.
  • Continue informing members about Immigration and Deportation issues so they can contact their legislators.
